(2/2022) "Brilliant crimson. Spice-accented raspberry and cherry aromas are complemented by hints of woodsmoke, incense and baking spices. Supple and sharply focused on the palate, offering sweet red fruit, spicecake and floral pastille flavors that tighten up as the wine gains air. Fine-grained tannins frame the impressively long, spice-laced finish, which shows fine definition and reverberating florality. Drinking Window: 2024 - 2034."
(10/2021) "The 2017 Murto Vineyard bottling from Brian O'Donnell is a beautiful wine in the making, with a more black fruity personality than the wines made from Belle Pente Vineyard fruit. The classy bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of dark berries, black cherries, gamebird, a touch of black tea, a refined base of soil, woodsmoke, a touch of fresh thyme and a deft framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, focused and youthful, with a lovely core of fruit, tangy acids, excellent balance and grip, ripe, buried tannins and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. This is a very transparent and classically-proportioned bottle of pinot noir in the making; it will be flat out delicious when it is ready to drink! Drink between 2030-2075."
