(7/2022) Crafted from 100% Cabernet Franc grown in the Loire's famed chalk soils, owner Mathilde Giraudet bottles this wine with minimal human involvement at her certified-organic winery. From first swirl this is textbook Loire Valley Cab Franc: offering dusty red fruits, hints of green pepper, cocoa powder and white rock minerality. In the mouth, this medium-bodied red is impressively concentrated but fresh and energized, with no oak or over-extraction to confuse matters. Brisk acidity a tense mineral spine with lively tannins that are chewy but soft, tactfully woven into the long, fruit and earth-dominated finish. This is one to grab by the case to drink year round!
