(6/9/2022) "A honeyed and smoky Alsace pinot gris that easily absorbs the touch of sweetness in its full-bodied, buttery palate, thanks to the underlying positive tannins. Long, juicy palate that's dry enough to pull you back for more. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink now."
(4/2024) Kuentz-Bas makes some of the greatest of ALL values in the Kermit Lynch Portofolio! The domaine was founded in 1795, and is now owned by 14th generation vigneron Jean-Baptiste Adam. This Demeter biodynamic certified bottling comes from 2 hectares of 25-45 year-old vines growing in predominantly limestone soil. A slow 4-8 week fermentation occurs in foudre where the wine continues to age on its lees for another 7-8 months. Ripe, rich and ready!
(10/1/2020) The shy nose on this wine keeps its secrets for now, showing only a hint of ripe pear. The palate comes in with the subtle richness of baked pear, freshness and gentle spice. A mellow fruit balance gives roundness and texture. The finish is off dry and bright.
(3/9/2023) "The 2018 Pinot Gris Trois Chateaux meets all the stereotypes of this grape variety on a higher level. This is bronze in color, with a light copper hint, and the nose is elegant and intensely fruity yet rather one-dimensional. On the palate, this is a round and rich, very fruity yet elegant and finely tannic or even bitter-finishing Pinot with some sugar leftovers that intermingle with cinnamon, caramel and ripe as well as stewed pear aromas, but they remain sweet and a bit too intrusive for my sophisticated taste. It has good length and structure, though. 14% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Drink Date: 2023 - 2034."
