(7/2021) Bold and unfettered by oak aging, Matsu's "El Picaro" bottling perfectly captures the youthful exuberance of Tempranillo in Toro. Sourced from older vines on sustainably-farmed vineyards, the quality of this wine is worth twice its price. Pouring a deep purple hue and offering intense notes of strawberry, black cherry, balsamico, bittersweet chocolate and singed rosemary, it is big in taste yet delightfully easy-drinking. A ton of wine for the price!
