(6/2022) Domaine Jean-Marc Morey is one of the iconic names in White Burgundy. Jean-Marc's son, Sylvain, set out to create his own Domaine in Luberon, at the western end of Provence. Eventually Sylvain inherited some fine vineyards in Chassagne and now splits his time between his two properties in Burgundy and the Southern Rhone Valley. This white blend, primarily of Grenache Blanc and Vermentino, combines the weight of a Rhone white with the tension and minerality of Burgundy. Raised in concrete, with a small bit in old oak barrels, this delicious white gives slightly bitter walnut, cheese rind, red and yellow apple, and intense mineral flavors - it is fantastic and has us thinking if Burgundy was made from Rhone grapes, it would taste like this!
